When I hear the words HOT BUTTERED RUM, I see a glass of warm rum with a glob of butter in it. Here is a recipe to try:

Oh my! I can't believe this! Of all my flavored coffees I was in the mood for the Hot Buttered Rum flavored one this morning! Now I know why!

I have always loved Hot Buttered Rum ... years ago I had no trouble finding it on menus ...

But for a long time now, I have not seen it on any menus and when I ask for it specifically, it is not available ...

I have bought the powdered drink in an envelope, but that is not what I am looking for ..

I guess I will try the recipe and see what that is like ...

This reminds me of Mary Poppins, whose cough syrup was hot buttered rum flavor, IIRC. I haven't had rum since I was in high school.

I bought an old fashioned small cup set they had years ago at Christmastime. We had hot buttered rum in them several times over the holidays.

ps You can also buy a mix in liquor stores to make them with (it looks like solid pack brown sugar) but it's easy to make it yourself.

Not something I would drink often, but once in awhile, Holidays or just the right Winter night, it's delicious!
