Penzey's Back to School 2012 catalog has a recipe for Big and Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies which are truly delicious...so much better than the recipe on the Quaker Oats box!

Mom made these today and was very difficult to stop eating....she altered the recipe by yielding about 48 which cuts the size of them in half. Also mentioned she cut the baking time down to 16-18 minutes versus the 20-25 minutes for the larger ones. Dom't forget to soak your raisins in hot water and drain before adding....they don't tell you that, I guess you are just supposed to know this.
