Is it ok to eat a frozen dinner that has defrosted?

Some frozen foods say " cook while frozen."  What if it gets put in the refrigerator and defrosts. Will I get sick if I eat it?

If that was the case I'd be dead by now.

Me too, I always defrost my meals before miking them.

@wishmoon LOL! I never "milk" my frozen stuff, thanks for the chuckle!

I also sometimes allow a frozen item to partially defrost before nuking. Done it for years, still alive to tell about it!

Actually, I nuked a thawed out Stouffers dinner last night. And on Sunday put thawed out manicotti in the oven w/marinara sauce over it. Still here and kickin.

My answer is yes.   I often put frozen things in the refrigerator to thaw slightly before cooking, as they take less time to heat thru.

The only frozen dinner I prepare are Amy's (in a crisis or RVing), and I usually defrost before cooking.  I add fresh greens and a salad to go with and it will do in a pinch.

Me too - defrost everything before baking.  Cooks better through the (meat) item and browns on top.  I rarely follow manufacturer's instructions.
