@Pooky1

Did you say Italian S cookies....are those with pinenuts?  Or was that a mistake in typing Cat LOL

I remember having a delicious cookie at my Sicilian grandma's house....it was in the shape of an "S" with pinenuts.   Also, very decorative cookies with a date filling and colored sprinkles.

How lucky for you to have all those delicious goodies to chose from!

I'll be right over!

I don't bake anymore as my husband doesn't like sweets (can you imagine) and I don't want/need them.

And, I have no one to gift them to.

I miss it though!

I baked 10 different kinds of cookies this past week and a couple of batches of fudge.  Tonight, I am making one more batch..this time molasses cookies and then two batches of sugared pecans.

Tomorrow, I will make Kiefels.  They take hours, usually all day, because the they are made with yeast dough and the recipe makes a lot of them.  You have to roll out each cookie and spread with a walnut mixture then re-roll.

Next week, I plan on making pumpkin rolls...some for Christmas and some to freeze for later.

It has been raining almost everyday.  I need a non humid day to make my clear toy candy.    hopefully, the rain will stop soon.  Then....I am done.

If you hear someone sneaking down your chimney tonight after you go asleep, it'll be me emptying your cookie jar.

@deepwaterdotter

Ummm, not if I beat you to that chimney, LOL!

Wow! You're a very ambitious lady!

Kudos to you!

I don't really shop too much for the holidays and I do very little decorating.  I  Cook and bake.  I hate doing everything else.

I am gluten free so I don't get to enjoy my baking, but my family does.

When I was growing up, we usually had over 30 different types of cookies, so I did pare down a whole lot.

My family has always been about the food.

@Carmie : Just wow!

I am baking cookies today. My oven is running hot, plus it's raining, so there's the humidity. I am burning more cookies than I am baking this year. Not going well. I often bake many varieties of cookies- not as many as you do! Not really feeling it this year. Will suppliment with a lovely bakery-made buche de Noel.

It looks delicious~ you're making me hungry! I didn't bake but I made my second batch of pierogis today for our Christmas and Christmas Eve dinners.  Of course hubby and I will have to "sample" some for dinner tonight.  Just to make sure they are up to standards. Smiley WinkSmiley Wink

I am totally in awe of you! That so reminds me of my Mom and her Christmas baking - when I was growing up after she started her holiday baking we always had tupperware containers of every kind of Christmas goodies stacked all over the kitchen, and then she would make up plates of all the different varieties for friends and neighbors, etc. Woman Happy

You mention you made fudge and that is one thing I've never had any luck with. Do you have any tips you can give me?

I'm sad I lost my Taste of the South roll recipe  I had planned to make today. Just bought the magazine Mon. and threw away a recipe, one I made last week that was no good. I found this one in the Jan./Feb 2020 edition of Tast of the South and now it's gone !

I'll have to go back and buy another magazine or find a place in a store to where I can copy it out. Sounded like a good recipe.

I can usually tell if a roll recipe is gonna be good or not and this one sounded like it had good ingredients and was for smaller families.

Shoot ! No rolls today LOL

Instead of writing it down, take a picture of the recipe with your phone camera.  I've done that a couple of times while reading cookbooks at Costco.
