I hope you mean low carb or that you are removing simple carbs from your diet cause complex carbs are essential for life. First, you know nothing about nutrition or a low carb lifestyle. That's okay. You need a good book on the subject before you begin. Sugar free j e l lo with berries and fat free whipped topping, real Greek yogurt with berries, melons of all types, I'm addicted to red grapefruit sections that come in hard, whole grain crackers with a smidge of sugar free peanut butter. Buy any low carb book and you'll find suggestions.

Yes, this is true.

Re: Is There Such a Thing as a No Carb Dessert

Thanks for the reminders about some of these. I"m trying to lose weight and although I'm not going completely no-carb, I am eating very few of them and sometimes a little something sweet would be nice.

While I am not counting calories, I thought I'd try it because I sometimes lose control when it comes to cookies and I do know we all should cut back on the sugar we consume. When I make this again, I will either add a little bit of maple syrup or some honey because I prefer more of a sweet taste. Unfortunately, using this tablet means it will all appear as one paragraph and I can't use my tablet because of some request for a QVC survey plops itself over the page so I can't use it to read or reply at all to posts. Banana Oatmeal Cookies Recipe When you have a sweet tooth and want to stay on track, here's a nice treat. Sugar is NOT an added ingredient. AND they are egg-less, dairy-less, and flourless. 3 mashed bananas (ripe) 1/3 cup apple sauce 2 cups oats 1/4 cup almond milk 1/2 cup raisins (optional)... I used dried cranberries 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 cup pecan pieces or your preference, optional....I did add pecans Mix together well. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes. REVIEWS (bake in muffin tin; use cran-raisins or dried cranberries, flatten because the batter won't spread)....I baked them on parchment paper on a baking pan. http://www.grouprecipes.com/135887/banana-oatmeal-cookies.html

I made the Chunky Monkey cookies which is very similar to this recipe and it was horrible. I added 2 T. of mini chocolate chips to mine and it helped the flavor tremendously. I know they have sugar, but by the time you divide it up, there isn't much in each cookie. Also trying using dried cherries cut in two instead of the raisins. Yum!

Try pressing into an 8 or 9 inch nonstick pan and baking for 15-20 minutes and then cut them into "brownies". That's much easier than making the cookies.

This recipe is NOT for the OP. It is not low carb at all. Just healthier than regular cookies.

Re: Is There Such a Thing as a No Carb Dessert

Take a look at Wheat Belly recipes. Wheat Belly is a way of eating that eliminates all grains and most sugars and sweeteners. Also anything else that raises blood sugar levels fast. It is a very low carb way of eating. I'm following it to help reduce symptoms of fibromyalgia.

I searched Pinterest and found these:

http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?rs=ac&len=2&q=wheat+belly+dessert&term_meta%5B%5D=wheat%7Cauto...

You don't have to sign up for Pinterest to view them.

Find one that looks/sounds good to you and then review the ingredients to make sure your family can eat them. Have fun with it!

If you just want something super easy, have chocolate on hand that contains a very high % of cacao. At least 75%, preferably higher. Nuts are also a good snack option.

Remember, a low carb way of eating means you eat a high fat diet. Please don't try to reduce fat. Don't be alarmed that the recipes contain high fat ingredients. They should.

Good luck to all of you!

Re: Is There Such a Thing as a No Carb Dessert

There will be some carbs from the berries, but this has flavor that is out of this world, I think due to the vanilla pudding mix that is in it. Best strawberry pie I have ever tasted.

Luscious Sugar Free Strawberry Pie

4 Cups sliced strawberries

Spread evenly in large size graham cracker or regular pie crust (for no carb just put in big bowl, then individual glass dessert dishes at the end).

Combine 1 ½ cups water, 1 small pkg cook & serve sugar free vanilla pudding, 1 small

pkg sugar free strawberry jello.

Cook, stirring/whisking constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.

Cool briefly and slowly pour over strawberries, making sure all are covered. (This where you would put into the clear dessert dishes)

Chill for at least 4 hours. Serve with Cool Whip (add 1 tsp vanilla)

Yes, this is true.

No they aren't. The human body does not need dietary carbohydrates to function at all.

That said, there are not many "no carb" diets. Most are low/controlled carb plans.

Re: Is There Such a Thing as a No Carb Dessert

When I am following a low carb diet I always like to have fresh berries with a couple of tablespoons of fresh cream. I try to stay away from all the artificial sweeteners and ingredients so I don't do jello, splenda, cool whip etc.

A nice bowl of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries should be a nice dessert for your low carbers.
