BPA is bisphenol-A. It's been removed from many plastics in recent years. I was at Costco yesterday and saw a melamine set that was very clearly marked "BPA-free" on the box. I also picked up some cute clear plastic drinkware at a local drugstore, dirt cheap at 99-cents a piece. All were labeled BPA-free. Now I'm wondering about my temp-tations melamine. Is it BPA-free? I don't see any reference made to this, and I would like to know. I have the original melamine set that came with the big tub.
If anyone has any old plastic items, check the bottom for the number in that little triangular stamp. If you google the number you can find out much about your particular piece of plastic. I did this several years ago and tossed several things.
I love TT, and I'm not looking to start a bashing thread. Please respect my wishes on this. All I'm wondering is if my TT melamine set is BPA-free. Thank you.
