I totally agree.

Your produce manager of your grocery should know the origins of

the product being purchased.

Dr. Pam Popper (Forks Over Knives, etc) did an excellent video

we should all watch. Basically saying the illness from contaminated

product usually begins inside a weak host...people who are ill to begin

with, taking medications, etc.  The odds are so extremely low someone

will get sick over romaine.

Yes, my grocer made us (the consumer) aware of the origin of the product they were selling, and represented that it was safe.  I trust them.

The reputation of the grocer doesn't matter, it's where the lettuce is grown that you needed to be concerned about.  Maybe you just got lucky.

Yes, my grocer did represent the origin of the greens.  I am very lucky, in that I have a reputable grocer nearby.

Re: Is Romaine Lettuce safe?

They haven't determined a 'source' of the E.Coli.

It could well be from anyone who touched the lettuce from field to table, including the cook!
