Is Corelle a thing of the past?

According to internet, Corning Ware merged with another company in 1919.  I hit one Walmart and two Targets last week and all three were completely bare.  One guy punched his phone and said "out of stock."  I think it is more than that, it just might be gone.  As time progresses I use my Corelle more and more versus my heavier Fiesta.  Does anyone know what is going on?

I don't think Corelle is a thing of the past.  I checked their website and they have dishes available.

Corelle is my absolute favorite and the only set of dishes I have.  If I have to pay more to get it directly from their website, I will.

It might be out of stock but it's still very popular.

@depglass  Do you mean 2019 instead of 1919?

It is all I use.  Plates, bowls, salad plates, platters.  I have my mother's, my own and I add pieces as needed.

There's a Corning plant that makes Corelle brands in my town - still going strong.

Corelle are my every day dishes.  I've bought fill-in pieces on eBay the last couple of years.  Even a vintage Christmas set.

Re: Is Corelle a thing of the past?

It would be fair to say that I'm addicted to dinnerware.  I purchased Corells in 1971 when it first came out for my "hope chest".  I used my first set named Butterfly Gold until I got tired of it which was about 20 years later.  Then, I purchased a set called Symphony.  I absolutely loved that set and had many of the accessory pieces.  When we had to buy a new dishwasher, I used the pods which were recommended.  The Cascade Platinum pods caused the pattern to fade.  My beautiful dishes were no longer beautiful.  So we purchased a set of all white dishes with the swirled edges.  I liked those dishes, but we only used them for about 5 years.  My husband disliked the way the finish disentigrated on the side edges of the dishes.  They became very rough to the touch.  He insisted that I get new dishes, but not Corelle.  The dishwasher pods do such a great job of getting the dishes clean, but are apparently hard on Corelle.  He chose the Pioneer Woman pattern Sweet Rose because I love Pioneer Woman.  So, after 4 children and 50 years of marriage and using Corelle for our everyday dishes, we have a set which is stoneware.  I like them very much, but find they are a lot new heavier than Corelle.  My daughter and her husband have been married for 20 years and are on their 3rd set of Corelle because the patterns continue to fade with the high powered dishwasher detergents these days.  I like my sets I use for company which are either porcelain or stoneware.  They all look just like they did the day I got them.  This is an issue which I believe Corelle needs to address.

@depglass  I buy mine at the local ShopRite. Sometimes they even have it on sale! White is my favorite, because it mixes in with other dishes. Their supply goes up and down, but it's always there.
