In The Kitchen with David AND ALL THAT FOOD- where does it go after the show?

It would be nice if they brought all the leftover food to a kitchen nearby that feeds homeless or needy... I am sure employees who work at the Q get plenty, and this food... steaks, salmon and such would be such a treat for those who depend on these kitchens for the needy.

I think the crew and the hosts eat it..it doesn't go to waste. You know David eats his share...lol. He has a great job!

I would be 8,000,000 pounds if I worked at QVC.

I bet a lot of the food goes right in the dumpster...

with all the starving people out there.

It's sad.

QVC employees get to eat it. The idea of donating the food is a great one, but there are often rules that prevent that from happening. When the hospital I worked in had their annual employee picnic, employees who were working, were allowed to come to the picnic and get their food to-go. However, the food that was left over at the end of the picnic could not be carried into the hospital for the employees who did not leave work to attend the picnic. The food was carried off by those attending the picnic; whether they were employees and their families/visitors, or the catering employees who prepared the food.

gosh!~ I sure hope not radimage! I have worked at bakeries in the past where we had lots and lots of bread products that were just fine but we could not sell... the shelters came by each night and boxed up all the day old( not really..) and took to all the shelter kitchens. No waste, a tax write off for the bakery and hungry people fed well.. I hope QVC sees this thread and does something good with all that wonderful food cooked each week on David's show.

Also it is just EASIER to toss it out.... rather than go out of your way, and do the right thing. Some rules... need to be rewritten.

Let's hope they have a deal with the local shelters there.

I've heard the hosts say that some of it goes to the workers there (hosts included), and some of the food is prepared well in advance of the shows, and isn't to be eaten at all - it's just for a demo. Not all of it is freshly prepared, or edible.

It is food that is prepped more for show than eating. It also sits out a long time. In the scope of things it is not that much food and is simply a deductible business expense. It also probably is sprayed with oils and sometimes even varnishes so it looks good. If you notice, there are a lot of things that are not even sampled.

It never ceases to amaze me that this is a big deal. I sure wouldn't want to eat it.

Considering how much food gets tossed because of a date stamp on these forums, I wouldn't worry about it.

We are a wealthy, wasteful country.
