If you purchased the Temp-tations Melamine line, how has it worked for you?

I'll be the first to admit that when it launched, I thought it was way too much for "plastic" dishes. I thought it would set a cheap looking table. I did take the plunge and buy some of the TSV place settings, and now that considerable time has passed, I have to say I have used and enjoyed it much more that I ever expected.

My original intent was for only summer and casual use, and I didn't think the ceramic would mix well with it (not because of color, just because the ceramic would make the melamine look cheaper), but I was wrong again. I have found myself setting the table many days with the melamine and ceramic mixed. I like the lightweight quality of the mealmine, when washing it, I don't have to be careful not to bump it in the sink like I do the ceramic. I can set the dishes to soak a few minutes while I clean up the rest of the kitchen (something we aren't supposed to do with the ceramic, and I don't have a dishwasher, so I'd be handwashing whatever I use), and because it is less bulky, it stores in much less space.

Overtime, as the melamine accessory pieces went on clearance, I picked up a number of them also.

I don't consider the melamine something I'd use to serve guests a formal dinner, but I have come to love its convienence and beauty. It has held up well, very little wear marks, even with heavy use and stacking in the cupboard. It has turned out to be much more useful and longer lasting than I thought it would be.
