If you make Hungry Jack Complete Pancake Mix, which one do you like....

The Buttermilk version or The Extra Light and Fluffy version.

Re: If you make Hungry Jack Complete Pancake Mix, which one do you like....

I put the pancake mix in a Lock n' Lock with the directions. I cut off which one it was, I went to the store, the directions were exactly the same on each box. Now, I don't know which one I like.

So, I got a box of Extra Light and Fluffy. I made them last night. So next I'll buy the Buttermilk one. I really think I got the buttermilk ones before.

I have the complete wheat blend. Love it. Not every store carries it.

Also I use club soda in place of the water for pancake mix.

Anything where you add oil and egg- pancakes have always been my nephew's favorite food.

I like the buttermilk better as I like a denser pancake. It will depend on whether you want a fluffy light pancake or a heavier one.

I don't buy pancake mix. I use this recipe which is really good. We like pecan pancakes with pure maple syrup.

2 c flour

1 t salt

1 1/2 c milk

1 egg

4 t baking powder

2 T sugar

1/3 c oil

Sift all dry ingredients. Add in milk, egg and oil. Mix until most of the lumps are out. Drop spoonful into a hot, greased skillet. Makes 10 to 12 pancakes.

We use the buttermilk version, we also don't follow the recipe on the back of the box. Instead we use 3/4 cup water in place of one cup, we add 1 T sugar, 2 t vanilla, and 2 T ricotta cheese. This makes the best pancakes ever!!!!!!!

I love the Buttermilk! - - Always add some flavoring, vanilla or butter/nut, maybe almond - - & I use milk.
