Re: Ice Cream Floats, Yes or No?

I forget about ice cream floats. On rare occasions I have one and think -- wow! Also, it would be a simple dessert for home gatherings - especially for kids who enjoy root beer.

After walking 2 miles on the beach between Seagrove Beach and Seaside, FL (January of this year), we stumbled - literally - into a Seaside 'sweet shop' where they served exceptional root beer and delicious ice cream, locally made. We shared a float. I wish we would have purchased two! Best root beer float I've ever had.

I'm not a huge ice cream eater but growing up I did enjoy floats.  We used Pepsi but preferred Root Beer or even Faygo Red Pop or Orange sodas with the ice cream.

Never had one. I would rather have the ice cream or the pop but not mixed. I don't eat ice cream or drink pop so I don't want either.

Now I can eat Gelato or frozen yogurt.

I have had them in the past but I guess I must be weird as I do not really care for ice cream or pop.

@CrazyKittyLvr2

YES, for sure YES did I say YES!

Root Beer or Cream soda floats with "decent quality" vanillabean ("low" quality ice cream can sometimes lose itself in the soda taste)   - but I have to say Orange home made ice cream in cream soda is really extra delish.

@Biftu @felixmom That's interesting!  I'm in the Boston area and everyone I know says soda.

Definitely would enjoy a root beer float right now!

@LdyBugz  When you say soda to me it means soda water.

@Biftu  When I hear the word tonic, I associate it with tonic water!  LOL!  Go figure!  😉

Yes, in 2 months! I say vanilla/ cream soda and strawberry ice cream. April has been so cold here, but when it gets warm, this is a GO-
