Every year for more than 25 years my friend has made Mocha Bars at Christmas. She has never shared the recipe. Recently, at her home, there was much discussion about this dessert and its popularity. It consists of a chocolate layer and a white layer of cake--the cake is more "bar like" than cake-like. Nuts may be added to the batter. The frosting is very rich, consisting of about two sticks of butter, and it's a mocha frosting. It's baked a brownie-sized pan, not a larger 9x13" and cut into small squares because of its richness.
I searched on the internet for a recipe, however, every recipe I found for Mocha Bars were not the same. Most of them were all chocolate with a coffee flavoring.
Any one have any idea what the recipe would be for these bars? Thank you!
