@Teddixat You mentioned you were no expert on cod. Good quality fish is very expensive. Yesterday we paid $50 per lb for a different fish. In our opinion, it's one of the best fish here. This was at the fish market, not shipped.
I do agree, some Costco fish is okay and worth the price. However, there is a big difference from one cod to the next, as well as many other kinds of fish. Icelandic cod is far better than Costco's. I have had both.
It has been mentioned many times, but, the biggest expense in food with the Q is the shipping. That can very well be 30% of the cost, maybe more. Everyone has their price point on items. We like good quality food and it's worth paying the shipping to receive it. Others may like handbags, appliances, clothing, whatever it is.
