Amarillo Globe News that a gal here in town is going to be on QVC around March.  She's selling what they call 'Biti pies'. Since I'm not a native of Tx.

guess that means a small pie ?

Be interesting to see that presentation. From what I understand she works out of her home with 5 employees. Don't know how she is going to pull it off, but, God Bless Her.

This is interesting @SharkE, thanks for posting.  As I watch Shark Tank a lot they usually go nuts over folks that work out of their homes and not a commercial kitchen so I'll be interested to hear how they create and manage their inventories.

Re: I read in local paper

I could say more,  about  what they were told, but, not sure how it would

be received by Mods. It's stricter then strict here. Anybody interested could probably go to the Amarillo Globe Newspaper site and type in different search words.

The term got my attention so I googled it to see what it was about, sweet or savory or both.  One of the hits came up as Biti Pies Amarillo Texas.  I went to the sight but the store front is now closed.  Last reviews of the product were posted in 2013.  I bet pies will taste even better from your home than a brick and mortar storefront.  I hope they do well on the Q.

Anything with pie in its name is a winner with me.

Unless l made an error in product selection, I just ordered these through Amazon. The 12 assorted pie/cake pack which got , I believe, all 5 star reviews.

Grinches won't let me put up the link to the article in the newspaper.

Amarillo Globe News is the only newspaper. go there, type in biti pies

will tell you all about the gal's upcoming QVC debut.

Big Texan steak restaurant has been the scene of a few movies. Plus, the infamous 'steak challenge'.   A woman has won for couple yrs in row. You have to eat like a monster steak looks more like a big ol' brisket to me, plus, all the fixin's, in like so many minutes. If you take the challenge and put yourself up there on the podium for display and the clock is ticking and you can't do it then YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT ! LOL

Last time I checked think the monster thick 10lb steak or whatever it is will run 100.00

Before I moved here in 2010 I thought you just ate the monster steak, but, when we went there and talked to the waitress she told us you have to eat the salad, potato, I think and bread all within in so many minutes

I sit and watched the webcam on the Big Texan website shows the people taking the challenge, few survive hahahhahahahah They either get sick or just can't eat all that big ol' thick monster steak.  Cardiologist nightmare.

I eat a 6 oz sirloin and one day we were there and I told hubbo "I'm taking the challenge " he hollered "to ale you are you idiot all U can do to eat a petite sirloin 6 oz cut. "    I was aggravating him hahhahahahhahaha

He isn't paying 100 bucks for half a cow hahahahahhah

Oh, by the way, waitress told us since people are sitting home watching the webcam of people trying to wolf down the steak in under so many minutes they see 'sneaky' stuff that people actually there don't pick up on.

One time this man claimed he ate the whole slab of meat and he had actually stuck it in his waistband and pulled shirt down over it because he didn't want to have to pay for it.

Only a man would do something like that !  Somebody saw him do it on camera and called the Big Texan and ratted him out. hahahahahhaha
