I'm done defending, 'Farmhouse Rules'

I'm up early watching the, 'Square Dance in the Barn' episode. Geez, I'll admit, I've only seen two other episodes, when she first came on. Boy, she seems really hard to take in this episode. I didn't think she was like this on the other shows. Like some earlier posts, I agree: Paula on crack! I wonder if this show has been picked up for a new season? I know shows will morph as they go along, but I was disappointed in these changes!

BTW: I have really been enjoying, 'New Scandinavian Cooking'. It might be older and they air it on a channel called, 'Create'. Makes me want to see Norway!

I tried to like this and just really couldn't. Not exactly sure why. She's not a warm and fuzzy person which I don't usually care about-hate all the phony smiling and "relating" some of the food network people do, but she just kind of rubs me the wrong way. She also uses her hands way too much to mix things. I don't know if they'll pick her up for another season.

I only watched 2 of these shows, the one about their anniversary, and the square dance one. I just didn't like her personality, at all. Also didn't care for her using her hands in the food. I also don't care if the cook/chef tries to "relate" or not, I'm not thinking we will be friends. lol I do hope they will bring on more new cooking programs, though, I'm sure I will enjoy some of them.

Is rather watch Paula. She is just add to watch. I watched the anniversary episode and all the kissing was disgusting.

I'm not sure why but I feel just like you do and I'm not even sure why. She seems so abrasive and I don't think she looks very clean in the kitchen. It isn't a show I would watch. She is very "in your face" and "rough and tough" acting. . .

I agree, she's hard to watch. There's something not right about the show and I can't put my finger on it.

There are shows like PW that lend themselves to that reality show format. Ree's family is so engaging, in my opinion, I just love to watch them.

However, most of them need to focus on the cooking and skip the drama. Even Trisha, who I love, has been doing too much of that. I don't need to see her college roommate or football player next door.

My current favorite is Mellisa D'Arrabian. She is so lovely and the show is all about cooking. If she ever starts taking us to pick up her kids from soccer practice or inviting the neighbors to help her cook, she'll lose me.

I love PW. I cringe when I see Trisha cooking in her sequined gowns! I really get a chuckle out of Weeknight Meals with Sara Molton(sp?)-She must spend $$$ on ingredients and uses every pan/utensil in the house to make her 'weeknight' meal. Not very realistic!

I forgot to mention that I'm obsessed with Melissa D'Arabian's house. Does anyone know if it's hers or if it's a set? I spend half the time looking out the window at the beautiful green landscape and the house across the street. I'd love to live in a home like that… and her pantry is something dreams are made of.

I think that's a set because I'm pretty sure I've seen the set used for other shows. I could be wrong, though. My memory doesn't serve me very well anymore. Smiley Happy

Re: I'm done defending, 'Farmhouse Rules'

I think this show maybe just tries too hard ...She seems almost condescending to those of us who do not live the "farm" life...Whereas someone like Rhee Drummond is welcoming, and makes you CARE about her unique lifestyle, she is off-putting and makes you GLAD you can run to the supermarket.........
