I'm almost there but one more question!

Kitchen is ALMOST done - have had a few bumps along the way…some OK others not Smiley Sad

Appliances come Monday so we will see how the black and stainless mix look but my latest question is….I'm having the hammered cups for my drawers (was afraid the smooth black would show finger prints, etc). The problem is I'm not sure I like the hammered knobs for cabinets…..the one style is VERY heavy. I kinda like the burnish black one -they are round with a little button in middle. Colors are the same on cups as knobs. Has anyone else mixed their cabinet & drawer hardware?

I wouldn't recommend it, but you'll just have to see for yourself how it looks. The hardware can be returned if you don't like it.

To answer your question, yes. In fact, I'm not really fond of most things that are "matchy-matchy". And the latest design/decor news supports a more eclectic style, especially using similar colors, shades, and textures that aren't all exactly the same.

Since you prefer the burnished black hardware and have to look at and use them, go for it!

Personally, I stay away from a "whitewashed" look (simply meaning all matching). I thought about changing my cabinet knobs but realized all the "antiqued" numbers were reproductions of what I already have! No change necessary. In design, texture and weight and proportion are very important, in my book. Not necessarily "same things". It's your home - do what thrills you.
