I like it.

Wal-Mart and probably other places sell a 'contact' not sure of the brand paper in a roll of blackboard & dry erase paper . I bought some (blackboard kind) and placed on a large panel of the door that I go out to driveway. It is wonderful for remembering what I usually don't ! Of course my kitchen and hallway has black & white tile so it goes. There are many creative ways to use it . I bought an eraser but usually spritz a microfiber towel and it cleans wonderfully so far. I haven't used the'dry erase' so can not comment. I found the adherence terrific.
I don't think I would want a whole wall of it. People with kids or grandkids could find uses for it.
forgot to mention..the dry erase is white and of course one must buy dry erase markers. and as I stated I have not tried that kind .

Normally I wouldn't like this, but honestly in a house with a big family, with a lot of things going on, this would be a great way to document, remind and entertain. It's very unlike me, but I actually like this in the right family's home.

Oh wow! I love black. It's my favorite color. But just make this wall a nice satin-finish black and get a pad for writing down your shopping list. You'd have to write down again, anyway, to take to the store with you (or take a pic with your phone, I suppose).
I like cleaner looks than many, though.
If my husband wrote on it you wouldn't be able to read what he wrote, anyway.

I've seen this in remodels on TV shows, where they make an entire wall a blackboard. I can imagine that for a playroom, but not in the main area of the house. I always think "no thanks"!
I was a teacher for a number of years. I've seen enough of blackboards lol.
I also wonder about that blackboard paint. Can you just paint over it??

I think it's like any other dark colored paint and would need to be primed before you could paint over it.
I'm a teacher, too, but I've always had white boards in my classrooms. I do remember as a student, though, that the chalk makes a lot of dust and the chalkboards need to be washed regularly, otherwise you have a big smudgy mess most of the time. I have a small chalkboard in my classroom, as well as one in my kitchen and I use chalk pens to prevent smudging and dust. They wipe off with a microfiber cloth. That might be what was used on the wall pictured.
Still, I'm much too fussy to allow random scribblings on my wall.

I love the idea. The writing and decorating in your picture are very clean so it fits.
I have thought about making a section of my kitchen wall into a blackboard. We have a large family and it would be a great way to keep the every changing family calendar. Also would let the kids use their creative energy without damaging walls which my kids have done.

Not something I would want to look at.

I like it....it shows a sense of individual style.
The writing would have to be in neat rows, for me.
