I have a question about chicken broth - regular vs. lower sodium

I was talking to my mom about this earlier. Why can't I buy the regular version and add water so it's not so salty? Is this feasible? Can I lower the sodium content myself? She said she didn't think I could, I told her I thought she was wrong and that I would ask the kitchen board ladies. {#emotions_dlg.laugh} I figured by adding water myself I could save money on the number of boxes I would need.
