I Made Peanut Butter Sandwiches for a Crowd Today--and not a crumb was left!

I had half of a loaf of home made wheat bread this morning and was OUT of bird seed! It is bitter cold and there is snow on the ground. WHAT to do! I made them some pb sandwiches (left the jelly off); made them a bag of popcorn, and threw out some pecans and walnuts. Not a crumb of anything was left when I got home tonight! LOL!!!

Reminded me of our recent thread and thanks for the idea for pb for a buffet! Who knew how popular it would be?

LOL!!! They'll have to make do with those black oil sunflower seeds tomorrow! They may be pecking on the door. I need to get the poor squirrel a bag of peanuts. I love to watch all of them!

Oh, no! The last thread about PBJ collected about a bazillion comments!

I'm not surprised the birdies liked them, but I can just imagine them with stuck beaks.

Got milk?

when we were kids i remember we would gather pine cones off of the ground and then spread peanut butter all over them and then dip them in birdseed or sunflower seeds. they were then hung on trees outside the kitchen window so we could bird watch!

i often throw out the stale pieces of bread or crackers, leftover rice, popcorn for the birds AND the squirrels.

On the same topic, for those of you dealing with snow and bitter weather, I heard that it's a good idea to throw your dryer lint out on the snow. The birds use it to build nests when they can't find their usual building materials.

There were some poor deer in my backyard yesterday and I felt so bad for them. It must be lean pickings this time of year. I threw out some baby carrots, some seeds, nuts and the remainder of a bagged salad. It's all gone so somebody or something must have eaten it.

LOL!!! I worried about that, so I put lots of bennie seeds in the pb and actually made sandwiches so they wouldn't have that problem! Milk would have frozen in no time!!!!
