Re: I Like (Not Love) My Crock Pot!

Toppers, I like the idea of removing the lid!  I've had a box of corn starch in the cabinet for over a year.  It's never been opened.

The roasts are good because I can drain the liquid.  The curry was...just yuk.  Between the coconut milk, and the water created by the meat and the veggies, it was not appealing in any way.

Re: I Like (Not Love) My Crock Pot!

i use my crock pot for everything. I have 4 sizes.

Not sure if you are using to much water/broth.  I don't cook any noodles or rice in my slow cookers, I cook them separately. I subtract water/broth when the recipe calls for more water/broth for the cooking of noodles/rice.

Re: I Like (Not Love) My Crock Pot!

viva, when I put a pork roast in the crock pot naked, the pot fills with liquid.  I can drain that.

The recipes I have call for adding liquid.  The meats and veggies make their own liquid, and I end up with soup.  If I don't add the liquid, I end up with soup.  I can't find a balance if the scales are skewed.

The fried rice I made in the crock pot actually turned out perfectly, but there was no meat.
