Never ever?   I grew up in the 50's and 60's and our house had a DW.  I've never lived anywhere w/out a DW.   Garbage disposal, yes.  DW , no.

I do the same thing..just two of us so there are not a lot of dishes, unless I cook a big meal, and still don't use the dishwasher.  I do run it about every 4-6 weeks to keep everything running and smell free.

I do. My husband says dishwashers don't get the dishes clean. I use my dishwasher for storage.

@morganjen Where did you husband ever get an idea like that. Does he do the dishes?

@Bridgegal I grew up in the 50's also & no place I have ever lived had a dishwasher & none of my relatives have had one either. I would not have room for one where I am living now.

@deepwaterdotter : If your Husband is OCD then he should know the dishwasher gets things much cleaner. Check the temp of the water as opposed to the temp of handwashing.

My husband does not display any behaviors that would be indicative of an "OCD" diagnosis.
