Re: I Got a KitchenAid Mixer

Enjoy!  It's the best appliance in my kitchen and I use it multiple times a week.

Re: I Got a KitchenAid Mixer

OP-----such a pretty color!! I have the same one you have--got it at Target in the 90's for a whopping $169!! But is a boring white and it makes bread just fine. I also have many attachements that work very well ---my fave is the pasta make. The meat grinder works good too. I would check on AMZ for attachments---on the KA website they are soo pricey---the pasta maker fits prefectly and I think I bought it for $69. It has 3 cutters to make the different types of noodles. I am always tempted to get another one but mine works great.

@dimin

The other head tilt isn't difficult at all.  I've used both extensively, the larger one gives more room for a scratch pound cake.  LOVE your color!!!!!!

Re: I Got a KitchenAid Mixer

I have a bowl lift KitchenAid mixer and I don't like it at all.  I'm constantly scraping down the sides (which I know you have to do, but the need is excessive with this machine), and I find it awkward putting the paddles/beaters on (and taking them off).

I saw that color on an episode of Joanna Gaines' show and immediately fell in love with it.  It is just gorgeous!

I'm sure you'll make the best choice for what fits your needs.  Congrats!

  • I have owned 3 Kitchen Aides; ( 1st one tilt head is on its 3rd owner, 2nd one a lift head was excessive to my needs so I purchased another tilt head). Btw check EBay for attachments and Google " kitchen aide skins/decales" to easily change the appearance of your appliance.

Re: I Got a KitchenAid Mixer

Why was it necessary for you to mention that you're "not a fan" of JoAnne Gaines (her first name, by the way, is Joanna, not JoAnne). I suspect no one cares whether or not you like her and that fact is irrelevant to anything you wrote --- and frankly the comment was just mean.

Re: I Got a KitchenAid Mixer

I have had four KA mixers in my long life.  Two tilt head, 2 bowl.  I would never go back to the tilt head.  Too small, head raises too high to fit under most cabinets, if it is raised it can flop down unexpectedly, too small, not powerful enough.

I find no reason not to go with the bowl lift.

@Citrine1- I bought the flex beaters for my tilt head mixer and it cuts down on having to scrape the sides of the bowl a lot.

I've had my 6 qt professional for about 15 years now. Love it for making bread.
