Hi Everyone,
My husband has been teaching himself by the "let's see if this works" method of cooking. My advice is not welcomed.
He has gone through 4 each - 4 cup deep fat fryers and is out again today looking for another one.
Have any of you successfully purchased a 4 cup fryer that is 1200 watts and ended up liking it? If so, I'd really appreciate a few particulars and where you purchased it.
Thanks so much.
(He refuses to go any larger than a 4 cup unit.)

Yes, I have had good luck with my Fry Daddy, it's. 4 cup I am pretty sure. I like it cause you can set the temp, a lot just have one temperature programmed in...
what is it about them that he dislikes to make him keep returning them?

I see the Q is having an air fryer as a TSV in March but it is only a 3 quart. I've never tried an air fryer but it sounds interesting.

Could he just use a heavy pot that is the size he wants? Just a thought!
I remember when my husband just HAD to have a juicer! He wanted that Jack LaLanne juicer that hsn had years ago. So, I bought it for him. He used it twice and that was that. Not saying it wasn't good, for what it was but he just went on and never used it again. I tried to impress on him that juicing is kind of silly because you throw away all the fiber and nutritional value, then just drink the sugar. He is so gullible. hehe
Anyway, hope he finds the perfect thing. I went on a 'deep fryer' jag a number of years ago. I must have purchased 3 or 4 different ones and ended up donating all of them. Now, if I am inclined to fry something, I just do a shallow fry.

Yes 4 cups is only one quart....it's the amount of oil...at least in a deep fryer that is what it refers to..not sure about air fryers...

You don't have to throw away the fiber. I used to have a juicer and it came with recipes & suggestions for using the fiber - in soups and stews, meatloaf, even some homemade breads, etc. Not all juice is made from fruit or is bad for you or only full of sugar with no nutrients, especially if used in moderation. Beet juice, for example, provides certain nutrients that are essentially destroyed in the cooking process. Throw a beet in with various vegetables and you have a nice drink that is full of nutrients.

@sfnative Everyone needs a deep fryer at least once in their life! He will use the heck out of it the first month! Then.......gradually..........not as much......LOL

Hi mothertrucker,
He keeps returning to them because he doesn't want to pay the bucks for a larger one, which would be more efficient, but he is convinced he can do with the small unit what one can accomplish with a larger unit.
I do so appreciate your brand advice and will pass it along to him. BTW, do you recall where you purchased it?
