One large baker with two small ones I got several years ago was a limited edition pattern - beautiful...cream and yellow, trellis pattern with red roses and green leaves. The large one crazed while sitting in the cabinet --I didn't get it out to use it for well over a year and that's when I discovered it- never used it. Used the two small ones later, one time with sweet potato casserole - one of those cracked and crazed (not cracked all the way through). Tara sent a replacement for the large rose patterned one - a yellow round Old World which, needless to say would not fit in the rectangular wire basket of the original, and I hated that yellow for some reason. Made mac & cheese about 5 times and it cracked and crazed. So they sent me a green rectangular Old World, which is too big to fit in the basket and I haven't bothered to use. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't buy another piece of this on a bet....{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

That was the pattern I was using when my lasagna dish broke into pieces and spilled all over the inside of my oven, the door and the floor!

Weird..the one I had which broke in half coming out of the oven with a Dutch Baby Pancake in it (not nearly as messy as lasgna) was ALSO a "limited edition" one!

It was the Blue Toile..a beautiful pattern, but I could never replace that oval one because of that...

The only thing I've ever done was to make sure it's really dry before turning right side up.   Any kind of bakeware with unglazed parts can absorb moisture.

Since I soak mine, I'll store them upside down or even put them in the oven overnight with the light on.

Go to an antique mall and buy Pyrex or Fire King glass bakeware.  No problems.

Yep, but some one  brought it up and it's still relevant, right...?

As long as they're selling it probably.  Like the Alton Brown one that was bumped.   There was a new book on and someone probably searched it.

You are doing everything right and exercising due caution. If there's a flaw that's going to result in a crack, it's already there and eventually will manifest. If I were in your shoes, I'd just enjoy it as long as it lasts, and then replace with something more reliable. But if you really love the pieces and don't want to risk it, I agree with the others who say don't bake in them. I haven't had a breakage yet, but I only have a few items that aren't in daily use, and I hardly ever bake. When I do casseroles, I only preheat if I'm putting the casserole in with contents that are already hot. Good luck!

Re: How to take care of my Temptations Cookware so it doesn't crack

I have collected Temtations since Tara first came to QVC with about 3 or 4 solid colors. Unfortunately recently my big bakers have begun to crack, not in the oven but when I have washed them. I only use some water and a little soap inside the cool rectangular baker to clean it and when I rise them and dry them i can see hairline cracks forming.  I am really disapointed as I have so many pieces and have replaced all my pyrex with them. Now I have to go buy pyrex again to replace the Temptations.  I will be telling my friends who have started collecting that the bakeware doesn't stand up to washing, or it seem, cooking.

I agree that the quality is not what it should be. It’s a roll of the dice now if you buy it anymore what you get.
