Re: How to keep liquids cold in Primula tumblers

I haven't tried these tumblers.  He does say to Never put them in the dishwasher or they won't ever work right again.  I only mention this just in case.

I do have a hard time believing they'd work for that length of time regardless.

Id send them back if I were you.💝🌸

I bought the recent TSV offering of a set of 2 40-ounce Primula tumblers and am finding myself disappointed so far. Mark Charles stated (in one of his many presentations) that cold liquid would stay cold, with no ice melting, up to 24 hours and well past. Well, I've been experimenting and can't even come close to these results.

Today I did as the instructions suggested--I put cold water in the tumbler and let it sit for 5 minutes (actually I let it sit longer than that and placed it in the fridge). I then empited it, filled it with ice and water, and closed the lid. Not even 15 hours later, the ice was gone. Acutally, it was pretty much all melted long before then. Not once did I open the lid during that time. Am I doing somerthing wrong, or do these just not work as promised? Would appreciate hearing others' experiences.

@qualityshopper   10hrs Later and mine is still full of ice.   I will leave it and post update later this afternoon.   I hope you didn't put them in your dishwasher?? THe amount ofice Istillhave it should last me the whole day.  I will update again later.

Re: How to keep liquids cold in Primula tumblers

When I wanted to wash mine from having put ice and tea in it, I couldn;t get the lid off for nothing. I did tighten it down tight because I didn't want to use the straw I wanted to sip it through the plastic lid. It dribbled all down the front of me so I tightened it down as best as I could then I couldn't get the lid off for nothing. I had to have my male neighbor get it off for me. I was so mad.

I don't have the new Primula 40 oz tumblers but my 20 oz keeps ice at least 12 hours, I never have a drink that long.  It nice to still have ice, but mine is to keep my hydration up, not a big deal for me if the ice lasts less than 24. My coffee is still hot 5 hours later, but I truly don't need my coffee to last 5 hours, I drink it, then switch to a cold drink.

For $10 each, I'm ok with the Primula performance.  I got mine at the last TSV last fall before Christmas. Works for me.  JMO.  Gave three away and kept one.  My gift recipents seem happy with them.

Re: How to keep liquids cold in Primula tumblers

I'm new to drinking water, never liked it but got these to maybe encourage myself to drink if it's really cold. I was pleasantly surprised with mine. I have to drink more water now instead of soda and I purchased these. I put ice water in at night and awoke in the morning to find ice still solid and drink was cold. I don't think I would be keeping water in it for any more time than 8-10 hours but found it cold. iwas happy with that

Have a 16oz tumbler from Aldi I got years ago.  It is the best one I ever used.  It stays cold forever and have had hot tea in it for over 15 hours and it was still .. not super hot.but hot enough to drink.  Its banged up from being dropped but its my best bumber going.  Sometlimes the inexpensive  wins!

My 20 ounce Primula keeps ice overnight even when using a straw. I don’t need it to hold longer than, I’m not going camping in the desert.
