Re: How long past-date would you eat a container of yogurt?

I store all dairy that comes in the plastic containers upside down, i.e. yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, etc. I read that when you open it, if there is any water or liquid in the container, you should pour that off and then stir the contents. I've been doing that for years. This is supposed to increase the life of the products.

I have used yogurt one week after the expiration date but like expatgal, I have had bouts of foot poisoning so would rather not take the risk when it comes to my health.

I would not eat them, but I don't use milk, sour cream, yogurt or any other item past the stamp date.

I would eat it without any hesitation, and do it all the time. There won't be a difference in the taste.

I was cleaning my fridge yesterday and came across two yogurts that got pushed way back on the shelf. Their stamped date is March 2nd. It is now March 24th. Would you eat these?

Yes. I think the yogurt I had this morning was older than that. It was fine.

When did we all become afraid of food?

My husband ate a yogurt about 15 days past exp. date. I wouldn't.

Heck yes I would eat it. I have eaten yogurt that was a few months past the expiration date. It tasted fine and I had no digestive problems whatsoever.

I volunteer in a food bank and we throw out yogurt that is over 2 weeks past expiration date.

I can't even see the expiration dates without my glasses. If it doesn't smell rotten, I eat it. LOL!

I MIGHT go 2-3 days, but not 22 days.

Same here. Not worth it, IMO.
