How long do you roast potatoes?

I decided that roasted potatoes would be good with steak. Having never made them before, I looked up some recipes but the cooking times vary greatly. One said to bake at 475 for 20 minutes, and others say 350 for up to an hour. If you are roasting about 4 medium-sized potatoes cut up into quarters, what time and temp do you use?
