How long do spices last?

Don't laugh but I purchased a spice rack about 25 years ago and never opened most of the spices. Do you think they are still good?

Also, if I need to buy more, is the quality the same? Reason being, I purchased some curry powder a few weeks ago and it was very expensive. We have a store nearby that sells food from all over the world (a junk store really, Ocean State Job Lot) and what they sell you can get a spice bottle for a couple of bucks.

What do you all think?
