I have never had them before. All the information I find stresses how perishable they are. I am not sure of the best way to keep them.

I keep them in the fridge until I am ready to eat them.

For me, the figs are all eaten up within 2 weeks. I imagine they can stay longer if stored in an air free container.
I just keep mine in a bowl - not covered. @ Montana

I don't think I've ever had Figs last two weeks. Typically I try to eat them within a few days. I think if you keep them dry and separated in the fridge they would keep a little longer but not sure they would last more than 5-7 days. Also depends on how ripe they are.

I never stored figs. They are eaten within 2-3 days; however, if they are very ripe I put them in the refrigerator.

I LOVE fresh figs and when I buy them they don't last long as we eat them up, but I do store them in a green bag with paper towels inside. They will last for awhile but you need to eat them fast. I put honey over top and maybe a little goat cheese too. And I've thrown the over ripe ones in my smoothies--that's kind of good too.

When I owned a house in CA ... we had some fig trees. Two crops a year. We used to make fig jam and can it (wonderful on pancakes and waffles).
Now - living in an apt in NYC ... if I have fresh figs, I eat them .... stuffed with Feta cheese and drizzled with a bit of olive oil.

Mine are eaten within 2 days. If I can find enough for 2 days. Usually they are so ripe, they have to be eaten that day.
