I don't eat them, but I do keep the paste on hand for pasta dishes.

but my son eats them on saltine crackers once in awhile.

He likes them. But, I think he started eating them because they are supposed to be good for you. He eats pretty healthy.

I love sardines, always have.  I especially enjoy the skinless/boneless in mustard, tomato sauce or olive oil.  I used to eat only the sardines packed in water but now I eat the other ones.  I love them right out of the can, or on a roll, or bagel.  I also enjoy canned herring and anchovies on pizza or in a salad. I have been buying the six pack of sardines from Costco !

@YorkieonmyPillow  When fresh sardines are grilled the whole outside of the fish - which is not very large - is very crispy so you can munch on all of it or not depending on your preference.

Canned sardines - they are usually filleted so no heads and what skin there us us very soft dye to being oil.

In U.K.  and when we lived in Spain - we got beautiful fresh sardines but since being here in AZ only canned.

how do i eat sardines?

I DONT.....cannot stand them.

my daughter loves them on top of a salad usually with a little bit of olive oil and either lemon juice or balsamic vinegar.

my s/o loves it with flatbread/pita bread, lettuce, herbs, tomato, and lots of lime juice.

I buy skinless and boneless in a can, either in oil or water. Eat them with crackers. Mixing them with a little mayo ( like tuna salad) is also good.

The only fish I will eat is deep fried. Won’t touch anything that isn’t. Heck, even my cats won’t eat sardines.
