Re: How are our Californian Community Members?

Thank you for thinking of us, PoodlePet! I'm in the Bay Area in Northern California and although I fortunately did not lose my electricity I have friends whose power was out for quite a long time. I have a friend who works at a nearby school and the cafeteria was flooded and they lost their power. The Emergency Alert System was coming on regularly, on TV and radio, to warn people about flash flooding. Anyway, this has certainly helped to alleviate the drought! It's nice to know people in other parts of the country are thinking about us.

Re: How are our Californian Community Members?

Am in Sou Cal - worked in Palm Springs for 40 years until retirement - do NOT ask me when.

We had tons of rain Thursday night and yesterday - nothing today but it is cold. Not enough rain but too much at one time - my brother lives up in Running Springs - lots of snow today - they need it.

I came here in 1960 and for many years love it - only want to leave now - not the Golden State in once was.

Hope all are ready for a marvelous Christmas season.

Had leftovers for dinner last night - tonight am having more of the same - primarily fried zucchini which I love. Take care everyone.

Re: How are our Californian Community Members?

It was a little scary at first with the middle of the night high winds. We had non stop rain for 2 days here in Sacramento. I was pushing water out of my backyard Friday morning at 6:00am because it was getting close to my sliding glass door. We flooded 3 years ago.with water throughout our house to almost the top of my foot. It was awful. I'm happy for the rain as we really need it but feel bad for those who are dealing with mudslides in S.Cal.

Re: How are our Californian Community Members?

West LA never gets the full brunt of whatever rain So Cal gets. I usually feel very cheated with most rain events. I had rain, hard at times, but not for hours and hours, and not inch-an-hour rain. Looking forward to more. At least it pushed me to get new windshield wiper blades today!
