I absolutely love green beans with everything! I love to cook a big pot of green beans and just warm smaller amounts with meals.
You would be more likely to find two green vegetables on my table than several white or yellow ones. I only serve one starch. Bread counts as a seperate food group because of the photo chemicals.
I have green beans for every holiday meal, and our grandsons always, always eat for me.

One of my least favorite green veggies, if I do eat them, it's picked fresh and raw with salad dressing over them.

@ECBGI share your love of fresh green beans. Because I cook for one, I really like to buy them a huge handful at a time and I pretty much do that every week when I can find them loose - especially at a farm stance or an outdoor market.

@ECBG LOVE green beans! I do the usual PA Dutch things with them, but the very best is fresh from the garden, place in large frying pan, add some water, butter, salt; cover and bring to boil over high heat. Cook off the liquid and take off the heat. The whole process takes about 4-8 minutes depending on the thickness of the beans. They should be slightly al dente. I consider them a starch as well as a green.

@ECBG have you tried them oven roasted? delish!! i love to put the roasted ones cold in my salad.

Any time I can find them! Yum! Even love them raw in salads.
The flip side is I hate, hate, hate canned beans. Mush. Taste nothing like a bean!
Frozen are ok, but fresh are the best!

We eat them a few times a week, they are eaten warm as a side and sometimes cold with oil and vinegar and a sprig of mint as a salad.
I also cook with them in soup and make ham, green beans and potatoes.
A few bags are always on my weekly grocery list. I buy them already washed and ready to cook most of the time.

There is a delicious firebirds wood fired grill spiced green beans recipe on line that I love. I like green beans cooked the traditional way by adding to salted water and add a Goya pork boullion cube, a pinch of sugar and some olive oil but I love that Firebirds Wood Fired Grill spiced green bean recipe so much that I make it often for pot-luck get-togethers.
