I thought I'd ask.  I'm sort of a 3 day pitch it out girl, and my husband thinks 5 days--after it has been opened.

So I thought I'd ask and see what YOU think!  I am talking about deli slices of ham, turkey, chicken or beef more than bologna, salami and such.

I use oxo vacuum sealed containers so I can keep the items you mentioned up to 2 weeks in the frig.  That's how long it would last at my house.

I think those items can last up to a month in the oxo containers.

I also have a food saver.  In the freezer - 2 yrs.

3-4 days.  When I buy it, I get it in small quantities.  Usually enough for three days.

I would keep it for at least 7 to 14 days. I’m shocked to hear that anyone would throw it out after 3 days....

Five days.  Deli meat grows bacteria very quickly once opened.  You can't see it, but it's growing.   If it feels slimy at all, I toss it.

We only buy enough for 2 to 3 days at a time.I never have to throw any away.

That's exactly what the researcher said on the news tonight! (ABC news).

Slimey? Toss it out. Don't keep it more than 5days in a good container.
