Potatoes are so frustrating! We buy a 5 lb bag, and before they are half gone...they are sprouting. It costs more to buy a couple bakers than it does to buy a 5 lb. bag. You always hear not to store them in the fridge.
I'm living as a caregiver for my mother right now, and she actually has an unfinished cellar in this old house. I thought that would be ideal because it is cooler, but they only last a little longer down there.
We have one of those 'Tater & Onion bins, but that doesn't do the trick. Has anyone tried one of those zippered bags for potatoes and onions? Thanks!
