I buy the St. Pierre brand of top-sliced Brioche hot dog rolls.  Only 6 to a package and about 80 cents a bun, but the tastiest I have found.

Some great ideas here! Won’t my DH be surprised next time I make hot dogs and he can fill the roll with as many toppings as he’d like! Thanks again 😊

@Natureluvr  My DH has that same complaint. He will slice his hotdog and place a piece on each side of the bun, not cutting the bun apart and pile his toppings down the middle of the bun and then squeeze the bun together....I just laugh at him....usually shaking my head about the effort he puts in topping a hotdog.....🌭 lol...😆

Top sliced hot dog rolls are the only way to go.  When I moved from New England I couldn't find these anywhere and was very confused why anyone would even buy a side sliced roll for a hot dog.  When my friends visited they always brought me top sliced buns.  Thanks to Pepridge Farms they are now available.

So, it seems like many of you agree with DH that regular hot dog rolls are pretty much useless. The standard rolls not only have no room for toppings, but they often split apart also causing a mess. I have never seen those New England style rolls so I will look for those!

@Desertdi - That is exactly how my DH’s hotdog would look with a deeper roll!

Yep, New England top split buns are the way to go.  Holds all my husband's toppings and more.

Ball Park and Freihoffer's are the brands we use when out of our homemade hot dog buns.
