Clean it really good and scrub all the rust off with steel wool. It'll likely require some elbow grease and time. Hopefully you'll find a good surface underneath. After it's clean, make sure to dry it well - do not air dry. Then, using a paper towel or old rag, apply a thin even coating of cooking oil to the pan inside and out, and bake your pan in a preheated 450*-500* oven for an hour or so. Turn off the oven and allow the pan to cool inside.

I'm not a cast iron hater, matter of fact I LOVE it and do most of my cooking in it. But it's Le Creuset and cleans up like a dream, doesn't rust.

YOu Tube has dozens of videos on how to restore cast iron pans and pots...
It's indestructible. When you see some of the items they've brought back to life, it's amazing!!!
