Caution !

Honeybelles are a hybrid fruit with grpaefruit.

Grapefruit is not to be eaten if one is on certain kinds of medication.

My pharmacy puts a warning label on the medication that says "Do Not Eat Grapefruits While On This Medication".

Is anyone else aware of this ?

My husband is on blood pressures meds and he can't have grapefruit.
So, as much as I would love to try them, it's not going to happen!

I knew about the Honeybells. I also know that you shouldn't eat grapefruit when taking statins.

Yes I knew about this so I hope anyone taking statins are very aware that grapefruit is a NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, please don't eat Cushman HoneyBells is you're on statin-type cholesterol-lowering medication.

I don't think they've ever tried to hide this fact. Every time I've ever seen a presentation over many years they have mentioned that.

Hopefully, people taking such meds should know these restrictions also.

On a side note - I really like these but had to stop purchasing them because I cannot consume that much acid. I love winter citrus, but have to keep it to a minimum.

I thought a Cushman HoneyBell actually was a tangelo. They don't publicize it, because tangelos (and similar fruits) are available in most supermarkets and they'd rather you think HoneyBells are special.

Yes, you are correct.....Honeybell is a a tangelo. That is, both are tangerine / grapefruit hybrid.
