Home Made Bread Question

I was wondering if any of you, when making bread, use your Kitchenaid to knead the dough?

My recipe calls for 8 minutes of kneading and I still do it the old fashioned way. I was nervous to try it with the mixer for fear it wouldn't come out the same as when using your hands.
