@Yesterday, the best deal on a pound of butter was the Kroger brand @ $3.99. All the brand names were $5.19 and upwards.
I use Kerry Gold unsalted Irish butter. Imported from Ireland. About $6 for 8 oz. stick. Well worth the cost IMO.
I don’t eat a lot of butter in my diet, but when I do, I want the best.
Good luck.

I usually buy a name brand at the dollar store; the current price shocks me!
But I'm not switching to anything fake.

Agreed. I buy mine at Walmart and pay around $4 for two pounds in a two-pack. It tastes good to me and it cooks up well. You get a bit of spattering from water in the butter when you melt it in the microwave, but that's been the only downside.

Thank you for the comparisons. It has become clear to me that the prices are not the same throughout the country.
I am going to check out my local ALDI, next chance I get.

@dex wrote:@ScrapHappy@Are you saying that to get the savings you need to buy ten butters or can you mix the items to get ten.
I just went shopping yesterday and I actually asked the store manager because I wanted to make sure I was doing in right in order to get the savings. For the buy 10 save $5 you have to buy in incriments of 10 (of participating items). You can get a list at the customer service desk. Whether you buy 10 Land O' Lakes butter or mix and match, if just has to be 10 participating items. The store manager said many customer put those smaller plastics baskets in the shopping cart to organize and keep track. I plan to go back for the Ronzoni pasta (49 cents for 10) and some other items like canned vegetables and soup.
