Retailers may be ordering but I won't be surprised if consumer demand actually decreases year-on-year. Chocolate has gotten very expensive.

We will have to stock up. We usually buy quite a bit of candy, in hopes that there is some candy left at Halloween.

Great marketing ploy! I'll just sit here and watch my Hershey stock go up as everyone runs out to purchase chocolate!!! Smiley Wink

@ECBG   Thank you for the heads up.  I go all out filling and handing out treat bags for Halloween so I will start ordering a little earlier this year.  I dress up as a "good witch" and I'm not sure who gets the most fun out of it (besides me, of course) the children or their parents.

Have a happy weekend.

Re: Hershey's Chocolate Can't Keep Up With Halloween!!!

I think in this day and age, and in this world Halloween as a community activity should be done away with.  Kits are bussed in and neighborhoods are inundated. It's dangerous, sort of scary, and outmoded.

It was sweet and fun when it was the neighbors kids, not so much when pickups, vans and small buses arrive and spill out 10 to 20 kids in loads.

My take would be for towns not to declare a night and time, and say no on-street parking laws will be enforced. We use to love it, now dread it every year.
