You've never had any kind of party? I'll assume you are very young so I say start simple with cheese, crackers and fruit.

My hubby and I are part of a dinner group that meets monthly. There are six couples involved. The host couple is responsible for all the food, appetizers through desserts. Guests bring the wine. We have been doing this for 16 years. The big thing I have learned over these 16 years is that no one really cares about the food. Okay, maybe they care a little bit about the food. Mostly, it's just about getting together.
In terms of appetizers, I would focus on a couple of things that you make yourself, and then supplement with store bought items. One appetizer that is always a big hit is kielbasa in the crockpot with chili sauce and guava jelly. Very easy and always a hit. Another good appetizers is stuffed mushrooms. Also deviled eggs. Then you can buy hummus and crackers and maybe some salsa. Put out a few different cheeses and some bruschetta. Done!!

You've gotten a lot of good suggestions. FIRST and foremost, Know the wines you are serving and what tastes good with it. Do a little research on what you'd like to taste, chat with the people at the wine shop, Cheese, nuts, fruits ,honey, Very thin slices of meats, Good fresh crusty bread and hearty breads and crackers. Have water available for in between different wines. A nice wheel of warm brie ,maybe one spread with apricot jam or honey and crushed nuts makes an impressive and tasty centerpiece. Try to keep the wines at the right temperature. Are they beter cooled or at room temperature. Maybe finish with champagne and chololates. Most of all relax and have fun with it.

I I like to make Pioneer Woman's recipe for cheesy jalapeno bread, very easy to make ans so delicious. You can cut it in small wedges. I have made it many times always a big hit !!

Remember to have paper and pens/pencils out so that when folks find a wine they want to buy later, they can write down the name, type and Year of the vintage. ( Or, you may want to have a listing printed with space for folks to record their impressions and potential purchases. )
It's hard to remember everything while sipping, eating, chatting, etc.
