Help! My first Temp.tations

I finally ordered my first set and am impressed with quality and versatility. I tried to bake cornbread in little ushaped pieces and I didn't use anything for nonstick. I had to loosen with a knife and bottom stuck was not a dream to clean. Do you spray or wipe with butter/oil? I didn't think that was necessary. How do you use? Thank you!
