I thought this was a slick idea because I hate standing at the sink preping veggies for salads.  You put all your salad fixings inside, then slice through it with a knife, turn 90° and slice through again.  Makes a salad for two.  Available on Amazon.

This would have been a great idea for a product for QVC to sell in the kitchen shows.  They never seem to come up with anything new or different.

Save your money ladies.  You have to have a very sharp knife and then be careful of slivers of plastic and the top comes undone easily.  Worthless

The cutter bowl is a neat concept.

I just bought a mandoline from HSN for this very purpose, though.I was going to get the Kuhn Rikon sold here, but for a couple more dollars, the one on the Southern channel does much more: Julienne strips, waffle slices, wafer thin to nearly half an inch, etc., etc. There's a demo on the product page that's worth watching to the end to see all the ways to use it. It comes with 2 blades, straight and krinkle. Not a huge footprint if space is a concern.

I think the Nicer Dicer would actually work better.
