Hi Ladies,
I love my vegetables and eat lots of them. However, I hadn't eaten a raw carrot in some time. I bought a few bags of baby carrots at my local grocery store. Thought we could snack on them and roast them, like I like to do. Well, I grabbed a handful one day and started popping a few into my mouth. And guess what? They had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR. Maybe a *slight* flavor of cardboard. And perhaps b/c I've been roasting them (the larger ones) or using them in soups, I was shocked by this. Do regular (not-organic) store-bought carrots have any flavor anymore?
And that got me to wondering if there are lots of other veggies and fruits that have lost their flavor--maybe due to early harvesting, more and more automated cutting/chopping/pulling, etc?
I dunno, just got me thinking. Do carrots taste like carrots anymore?
