Your body doesn't digest paraffin. It goes right through you and if you injest too much, it will cause a laxative effect.
it is used in many commercial candies, like jelly beans, and also used to keep fruits and vegetables fresh longer.
It's not a product I seek out, but it is almost impossible to avoid it completely.

I always add some parafin to the buckeyes I make.....helps keep the chocolate thinned out.....and you cannot taste it.

My daughter dipped her pretzels in nestle mint choc. chips this year. The mint is great already told her next year do the mint choc.again.
