I love the design and colors but the performance of the appliances isn’t worth the money. Plus I always think smegma when I see that word.

I'm not tight fisted with my kitchen toys but I won't buy Smeg.  The name bothers me but they are attractive appliances.  My less expensive appliances work good enough.  I'll indulge myself in other kitchen fun ways.  I wonder if the name can be sanded off?  LOL

The design and manufacture of Smeg appliances is concentrated in three factories based in Northern Italy, each specialising in a specific type of appliance. Smeg has subsidiaries worldwide, overseas offices and an extensive sales network.

The name is an acronym for Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla ("Emilian metallurgical enamel works of Guastalla").

Family business.

@SharkE : Happy for you  and your new kitchen toy. I no longer bake a lot like in previous years. I have decided not to purchase expensive stand mixers. I was really tempted by the Cuisinart stand mixer offered today on Evine but my kitchen aid stand mixer still works. I will replace it with the Cuisinart when necessary. I noticed the Cuisinart was 7 pounds less than the kitchen aid. Southern Bee

I'd take Cuisinart any day over KA. Don't let the wgt fool you. Wasn't a thing wrong with my cuisinart just the color and fell in love with the SMEG.

Hey @SouthernBee  I'll be gone sat morning to go to another county flea/craft show, so, I'm making Pioneer Woman apple cinnamon rolls with carmel icing.  Hope they turn out.

She makes everything so hard. I got her fancy book called Holiday Baking and she goes on about the Apple Cinnamon rolls with Carmel Icing, so , I made them few wks ago. too much butter and they were a sloppy mess to roll up and form into rolls.

this time I sit down and halved the recipe and made them the way they should be in correct order. She said make filling first . Huh? you would make the dough first because it has to rise. While they're rising you can make the filling.

She does recipes for a big family with 5-6 kids and feeds farm hands.

I feed 2 and few more by special request on church day so why do I need to use 10 cups of flour , 2 sticks or more of butter, etc.

she has good intentions, but, wish she would file recipes down to the average family. I have to figure out the corrected measurements myself

I"ll post pic if they turn out. If not forget I mentioned the rolls LOL

We'll eat these over weekend. Dough has to rise once, then, after made into rolls and cut, rise again in the pan. So, I'm cooking on Fri. LOL
