HSN Wolfgang Programmable Universal Mixer

Did anyone get this e-mail and does anyone have it?  It looks interesting, especially with the lid and not taking up as much room as the KA stand mixer.  I also received the 20 percent coupon, which, for some reason, I can never use.  However, this mixer looks good and the coupon might work, so I am thinking of ordering.  Just hoping that someone has used this and can give a review.

@SXMGirl, I don't have one, I did get the email. As for using a coupon, HSN usually excludes the TS from the coupon.

Re: HSN Wolfgang Programmable Universal Mixer

@SXMGirl  It looks amazingly similar to Paula Deens' and Cooks Essentials mixers on Evine.  Paula Deens' is a 6 quart and 1000 watts and now is on sale for $124.99 (52%off).  I have both the Cooks Essentials 5 qt and Paul Deens and  both are excellent.  They are light and have suction cups on the bottom so they don't slide around.  I bake a lot and with these mixers it is so easy.  I'm sure Wolfgang's will be pretty good also even though a smaller wattage.

@Pook, thanks so much for the info.  I have never seen anything like this, but I will take a look at the ones on Evine.  I rarely purchase anything on that channel except for Polish Pottery and a few Waterford pieces, but some of the posts about Evine have not been favorable.  That gives me pause, but I will be looking.  Thanks again!

Re: HSN Wolfgang Programmable Universal Mixer

I have the Cook's Essential one that was 600W.  It is great.  I would go with the one with the most power and try it right away with a variety of things.  If the coupon worked I might try his if you don't mind not having the power.  The reviews on Paula's are mixed but some of the people didn't sound like they knew how to use it properly.  They were still trying to use it like a regular one and just didn't get the hang of it.

@SXMGirl  When reading the reviews, it was quite obvious that so many did not know how to use it and were disappointed with how light it was and with the plastic attachments dispite all the power so they sent it back and said it was cheaply made!  I have to say both the 6 quart and 5 quart ones work great.  At Christmas time, I make over 500 dozen cookies and it reduced the process to simple since I used to use a KA hand mixer.  I was able to make 3 batches at a time of each kind and could clean up while they were mixing.  Filling for Lady Locks cookies require extended beating and it's fluffier and smoother than I ever got it before.   I have made bread doughs and have a pound cake recipe that also requires much mixing.  Making Jr's cheesecake recipes are now less time consuming.  I could go on and on.  Don't let the lightness of these mixers make you think they are not sturdy!  The best part is the cleanup is so easy.  It does seem like Wolfgang's is very similar so probably just as good.

I've been watcing Chef Brad on BYU for several years, and really like him and his philsophy of healthy eating. He uses the Wonder Mixer for everything, and has done so for long before the others came out with their models. I have a KA mixer and am not in the market ti replace it, but if I was, the Wonder Mixer is the one I would choose. Check it out here:

@Pook, thanks for the info.  I am trying not to buy anything that I really do not need, but I can see so many uses for this product.

@PookIs the 500 a typo or do you really make 500 dozen cookies?

What do you do with all of those cookies?

When do you start baking?

Not a typo.  I actually do make at least that each year.  It started with a few good friends telling me they just wanted my cookies as a present after they got married and started families and ballooned out from there.  I would bring some to work and those that I exchanged presents with also just wanted my cookies.  Then I started including other friends, neighbors, relatives and those I knew who had illnesses, new babies, deathes in the family that year and were not baking.  Before I knew it I was making about 50-80 trays every year  and each with 10- 20 dozen cookies.  I also brought cookies to my dentist and chiropractor's offices and they both wanted to buy some for there families so I make trays for them as well, my mechanic's garage employees  several widows of former coworkers. I make the doughs in November, form them into balls, roll out the ones that need it and freeze them then when I'm done I bake them all and refreeze until I make the trays.  I also always have one of my freezers full so the following year when I need cookies to bring anywhere I have them and we always have cookies when we feel like it.  I make about 16 different kinds each year and usually try 1 new recipe.
