HELP! Cook's Companion Wonder Pot

I used this Wonder Pot for the first time today.  NEED HELP!  On page 8 in the instruction and recipe book on page 8, it says clean detachable lid.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the lid off.  I don't think it's possible.  Also, I took the vent on the top of the lid off to clean and now I can't get it off.  I'm at the point where I'm going to throw the whole thing in the trash.  Can anyone help? I called Evine customer service but they don't know a thing.  Any help would be appreciated.

I answered U don't know what happened to it, but, if you go to Evine and look under 'care instructions' it tells U the lid does not come off.

  • To clean the lid and gasket use water and non-abrasive liquids and sponge, dry with a soft cloth.
  • Be sure that they are placed into the correct position for next use.

  • Please note, lid opens but does not detach from the Wonder Pot completely.

Re: HELP! Cook's Companion Wonder Pot

Thank you for your reply.  I think I broke my pot.  It said in the manual that the lid comes off so I kind of pried it off so in the trash it goes.  Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Re: HELP! Cook's Companion Wonder Pot

I wish they would put a correction in the manual. The lid does NOT come off-it's a misprint! On the FB group-they recommend wiping the inner lid with a sponge and run a steam cycle to deep clean it. Sorry you pried the lid off, I kind of think it's Evine fault!

Re: HELP! Cook's Companion Wonder Pot

I had a small deep fryer that had a lid like that. Couldn't clean it lid kept coming down on your hand it was just unhandy gave to Goodwill.

The wolfgang Puck small pot lid comes off. Really just big enough for one person , maybe 2 depending on what your serving. It has a tendency to boil over just a tad maybe I'm putting to much water/milk in it when I make mac and cheese. Put in one cup of mac and 1 cup of milk and 2 tbs of butter and when it gets to boiling it seeps out the sides a little. LOL

@tassimo if you take a look on HSN's site and type in Wolfgang Puck Rice Cooker I believe the cooker that @SharkE is referring to should come up (sharke please correct me if I am wrong).

I have this cooker and absolutely love it, use it all the time and if you are interested in purchasing it please give some thought to purchasing the cookbook as it will expand the use of the cooker more than I can say.  I hated paying full price for it back in the day and now I use it all the time . . .
