Cost in your area. I do not eat meat, but a family member is talking about the cost of GB and I was wondering how much in your area?

I live in a major beef producing state. Prices are ridiculous but I understand why.
Farmers lost over $1Billion in sales of meat and grains with just 1 of the government actions earlier this year.
Other countries have also gone elsewhere to buy, where it's easier and less expensive to buy and where trade agreements are more reasonable.
Supply and Demand is at play now. Farmers are making up the difference the way businesses always do.
I don't eat a lot of beef anymore.

Beef is up almost 2 dollars a pound. The inflation is tremendous. Thought maybe the Labor day sales would bring a better price this weekend. The sale papers are dismal at best. This economy is only getting worse.
That being said Illinois corn is in season and beautiful. 6 ears of corn for $2.

We buy our ground beef from a local farm, I want to know where it comes from but more importantly I want to support the little guys. We buy most of our meat from local farms.

I paid $3.39 a pound for 80/20 ground beef last week at my local Acme. It was on sale and is usually around $5-$6 a pound.

@Group 5 minus 1 I only purchase 96% lean ground sirloin and tbh I never look at the price. If I'm going to eat beef I only want lean choices.

Not only ground beef but just about everything else is going up in price and will continue to get higher as the fall/winter set in. Hope you all stocked up on coffee because that's going to skyrocket as well.

We don't look at the prices because we live a carnivore lifestyle. We also get the 80/20...never the lean options.
The only exception...
If that is all there is available when we are in the store, we will add fat when we prepare/eat it (one of these...real butter, beef tallo or bacon fat).

We don't use huge amounts of ground beef. I buy 85/25 organic grassfed ground beef at Aldi for about $5.49 for a one pound package. Every once in awhile it goes on sale for $3.99/package. For grassfed and organic, I'm not mad about the usual price. When it goes on sale, though, I'll stock up.

We can usually get 80/20 on sale for 3.99 85/15 for about 4.99. I only buy it on sale. I only keep 5-6 pounds frozen. I like 80/85 for burgers, I think 93 makes them too dry. If the price continues to rise, I may stock more than 5/6 pounds.
